This circular shaped, leather made shield of shallow convex form, the interior painted red with gold border designs and gilt flowers, fitted with an early pad and four iron rings for enarmes, each corresponding with a domed brass boss, the exterior painted with a central rondel filled with polychrome flowers and foliage, the outer border en suite, and the middle field with a design of scrolling red flowers and foliage against a black ground.

Este escudo circular, feito de couro, de formato ligeiramente convexo, com face interna pintada de vermelho, com o rebordo pintado com arabescos dourados, e a superfície vermelha ponteada por flores douradas, nesta face existe uma almofada rectangular, original, em tecido também vermelho presa nos quatro cantos por argolas para prender as braçadeiras de couro e que correspondem a quatro cúpulas em latão que decoram a face externa, esta face é pintada a vermelho com desenhos florais num tom mais escuro e centrada por um círculo central, decorado por flores e folhas polícromas, o rebordo externo é decorado “en suite”, sobre um fundo preto.
